Stay

For those of you up for an outdoor adventure, Camp Dark Waters offers very basic accommodations. For about $10/night per person (children 5 and under stay free), you can get a bunk bed in a cabin or opt to pitch a tent in a big grassy field. Since there are quite a few cabins, it's entirely likely that you can have your own -- especially if you're a group of two or more. Bathrooms and showers are clean and decent but shared-- and, thus, located a short walk away. If anyone would like to make a weekend of it, two nights of lodging at the camp would run you $25/person. Intrepid explorers that we are, Michael and I plan to stay at the camp both Friday and Saturday nights. We'll be the only group at the camp Saturday, so it's not really necessary to make reservations. If you do plan to spend the night there, however, please let us know so that we can map out who's staying where.

If indoor plumbing is your thing, let not your heart be troubled. There are a bunch of hotels just a short drive from the camp. Perhaps the closest option is the Flying W Airport Resort, a kitschy place that boasts an airplane-shaped pool AND (you guessed it) an airport. While we can't speak to the quality of the rooms as we've never stayed there, we are intrigued by the Flying W's Web site. Best of all, it's a 5-minute (or 2.2-mile) drive away from the festivities. We've set aside a block of double rooms there that should be about $80/night plus tax. For reservations, call (609) 267-7673.

Finally, for those of you seeking slightly more luxurious digs, the Hyatt Place Mt. Laurel is 10 miles or 20 minutes from the camp. The hotel has wireless internet, suite-like rooms, and a complimentary continental breakfast for guests. While a bit farther away than the Flying W, accommodations are also a bit nicer. We've reserved a block of rooms here at a rate of $99/night plus tax. Please book by May 4 to get the discounted rate. For reservations, call (856) 840-0770. And do let us know if you have any trouble reserving a room

Michael and I will be hanging around the camp on Friday, setting up decorations and taking care of some last minute things. If you're in the area, please stop by or call. We'd love to see you! You should also feel free to come early the day of the wedding. While we'll probably spend the morning setting up tables and beverage bins, making iced tea, and (possibly) freaking out (about not finishing in time), we'd love the company. You should also feel free to hang out at the camp and with each other. There are tetherball poles, ping pong tables, potato sacks (for races), and various other delights. And do let us know if you plan to be in town Friday evening, as we'll probably have a  very casual pre-wedding pizza dinner at the camp.
